To provide an onboard power converter comprising a cooling means of a simple configuration, capable of suppressing the power loss of a power conversion circuit for less amount of heating, and cooling by a travel wind while a vehicle travels.
In an onboard power converter A1, a heat sink 1 comprising a heat radiation plate 2 is connected to an inverter module 10 of which the power conversion circuit is housed in a case 10c where a plurality of reflux diodes 13 and a plurality of semiconductor switches 12 of a wide band gap semiconductor element are combined to form a bridge circuit. The heat of the power conversion circuit is cooled by a travel wind of the vehicle, for higher power conversion efficiency, a simpler cooling mechanism, resulting in decrease in the number of components and improvement in reliability.
