Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the maintenance of an oil sealing aparatus, by forming a static chamber in the section of a rotary drum of a hydraulic power transmission located on the side of a seal, and thereby preventing leakage of oil from the rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:A partition wall of a disk 6 is disposed in a rotary drum 1 on the side of a seal 3. The peripheral portion of the disk 6 is extended near to the top of a scooping pipe 2, and a labyrinth seal 7 is fitted between a bore of the disk 6 and a fixed shaft, so that a static chamber 8 is formed in the rotary drum 1. Wavelike agaitating flow produced by the scooping pipe 2 does not enter into the static chamber 8 since it is isolated by disk 6. Further, if there is some leakage of oil from labyrinth seal 7 into static chamber 8 due to dynamic pressure produced when the agitating flow impinges onto the seal 7, the amount of leaked oil is faily small and the oil leaked into static chamber 8 is thrown away radially outwards by the centrifugal force. Further, since the circumferential portion of the static chamber 8 is communicated to the section of rotary drum 1 where scooping pipe 2 is located, there is no fear of oil to fill up the static chamber 8. Thus, there is exists almost no oil near the seal 3, so that oil leakage can be prevented almost completely.
