To enable reconstruction of a device description and allow other network devices to be notified that the device description has been reconstructed.
A device information table is provided for determining whether an extension peripheral device to be connected is available to other network devices or not, and an extension peripheral device which is not reflected on the description is retrieved from a connection flag of the device information table (step 101, 102). The current device description is obtained and information to be reflected is acquired from the device information table (step 103, 104). The acquired information is added to a predetermined location of the device description, and, after the reconstructed device description is temporarily stored, entry is made on the connection flag as to the reflection on (addition to) the device description (step 105-107). A new advertising message describing a URL that stores the last-updated device description is prepared and transmitted (step 108).
