Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform printing without conducting an error processing even if a pattern data amount exceeds a buffer storage capacity by a method wherein when a block data length is judged to be larger than a buffer data length, dot pattern data is printed by the number of blocks which can be stored in an image buffer.
CONSTITUTION: In a tape printer, a text stored in a text memory 41 is divided into first - fourth blocks through a block key. Block marks M1-M4 are inputted for every delimitation between the block data. Furthermore, the respective block data are accumulated through a text pointer 42 at every detection of the marks M1-M4. The accumulated block data length is compared with an image buffer data length set through a key and stored in a buffer data length memory 43, whereby the data is printed through a thermal head by the number of blocks which can be stored in the buffer. Therefore, even if a dot pattern data amount exceeds the storage capacity of the image buffer, printing can be performed without conducting an error processing.
