Title:
NAIL FOR HARD MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3649747
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a corrosion resistant, mechanically strong nail with a shank and a head, which can be driven into hard materials such as concrete, rock, metal and the like by an explosive powder charge operated tool, and can be economically produced by the conventional cold-working.
CONSTITUTION: To achieve the high strength required for such nails, the nail is formed of two parts, one a head 2 and the other a shank 1. The head 2 is formed of a deformable corrosion resistant steel. The shank 1 is formed of an austentics steel alloyed with nitrogen having a very high mechanical strength, and provided with a flange 1a on a specified region of the shank. A disk 3 is provided on the shank 1 to serve as a guide during driving operation.
