To provide a mounting structure for an energy absorbing material, establishing mounting of the EA material without causing a member such as a trim to be rattled, where no hot-melt adhesive is used.

A rod 2 is protruded from the trim 1 and is inserted through a mounting hole 4 in the EA material 3, while a cylinder 7 furnished integrally with a cylindrical portion 7a and an overhung portion 7b is fitted on the rod 2. The cylindrical portion 7a is fitted in the mounting hole 4, while the overhung portion 7b is positioned covering the peripheral edge of the mounting hole 4. On the rod 2 the cylinder 7 is fitted, and its cylindrical portion 7a is fitted in the mounting hole 4, and upon laying the overhung portion 7b over the EA material 3, the forefront of the rod 2 is subjected to a caulking process so as to form a widened part 2a.
