The hot and cold water mixing valve adjusts water flow and mixing ratio of hot water and cold water which are delivered after a movable valve 8 slides on a fixed valve 4 and mixing water flow outlet hole in the movable valve 8 connects a cold water inlet with hot water inlet in the fixed valve 4. One of valves 4, 8, for example, the valve 8 has at least a sliding face which is formed by impregnating specific lubricant which consists of at least one of fluoride based oil and silicon based oil to opening pore of silicon carbide sintered body with three-dimensional network structure. Other valve, for example, the valve 4 has at least a sliding face which is formed by laminating a silicon film and a non-crystal carbon film in this order on the surface of an alumina sintered body.
