Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve rigidity, to simplify manufacture, and to attain an operation in a wide frequency band without any ghost mode by making the diameter of a circular waveguide part smaller than the length of the diagonal of a rectangular waveguide. CONSTITUTION: A thin strip 31 constituted of a non-porous guide material is made circular, and sealed and mounted by a circular waveguide part 32 having substantially the same diameter. Also, both ends 38 and 39 of the circular waveguide part 32 are connected with a waveguide 34 for transmitting a microwave with an operating frequency band, and the microwave is outputted through the end part 38 of this window from the second end part 39. Then, the waveguide 34 is made rectangular, and the diameter of the circular waveguide 32 is made smaller than the length of the diagonal. Moreover, a wall 36 having an opening 37 is arranged at each junction between the waveguide 34 and the circular waveguide part 32. Each opening 37 is included in a cross-section part 42, and the area of each opening 37 is made smaller than that of this cross section part 42. Thus, rigidity can be improved, manufacture can be simplified, and a valid operating frequency band can be enlarged without any ghost mode.
