To prevent microwaves from being leaked at a microwave rotary drying machine, and to extend a replacing period for a packing.

Raw garbage fed into a rotary drum 11 is dried under radiation of microwaves. A fixed chamber 17 is fitted to the rotary drum 11 under a state in which it is overlapped at the outer circumferential surface of the end part of the rotary drum 11. A gap space between the rotary drum 11 and the fixed chamber 17 is provided with a microwave resonance attenuator 101, a microwave absorbing member 102 and a grand packing 103. Microwave is attenuated by the microwave resonance attenuator 101 and absorbed by the microwave absorbing member 102 to enable its external leakage to be prevented. In addition, a gas seal is formed by the grand packing 103. Since the grand packing 103 has a certain durability against its sliding contact, its replacing period is extended and its maintenance work becomes simple.
