Abstract:
To provide a method of producing hydroxamic acid resin that can inexpensively and safely produce hydroxamic acid resin by one-step reaction and to provide a method of purifying zirconium.SOLUTION: A method of producing hydroxamic acid resin includes: a reaction step of reacting a carboxyl group as an exchange group of a cation exchange resin with hydroxylamine or hydroxylamine hydrochloride in the presence of carbodiimide to form a hydroxamic acid group; and a separation step of filtering and washing a reaction liquid including the cation exchange resin having a hydroxamic acid group and a by-product derived from carbodiimide to separate and purify the cation exchange resin having a hydroxamic acid group. The solvent to be used in the reaction step is an organic solvent which dissolves carbodiimide and hydroxylamine or hydroxylamine hydrochloride and does not react with a carboxyl group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
