Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material composite for a lithium ion secondary battery, which enables an efficient manufacturing process while using particles suitable for coating, and which allows a secondary battery obtained thereby to exhibit superior durability and an excellent rate characteristic.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material composite for a lithium ion secondary battery, which includes lithium composite oxide secondary particles (A) composed of particular lithium composite oxide particles, and each having a surface coated with particular lithium-based polyanion particles (B) comprises the steps of: (X) firing mix powder including a predetermined compound to obtain lithium composite oxide secondary particles (A); (Y) drying, by making a medium to flow, a slurry including lithium-based polyanion primary particles obtained by a hydrothermal reaction and a carbon source and then, firing the dried slurry, thereby obtaining lithium-based polyanion particles (B) having carbon supported on their surfaces; and (Z) mixing the lithium composite oxide secondary particles (A) obtained in the step (X), and the lithium-based polyanion particles (B) with carbon supported on their surfaces, obtained in the step (Y) while applying a compressive force and a shearing force thereto, thereby compounding the lithium composite oxide secondary particles and the lithium-based polyanion particles.SELECTED DRAWING: None
