Abstract:
To improve a fatigue life of a weld zone in an existing bridge and efficiently repair a crack existing in the weld zone.SOLUTION: A method for improving a fatigue life of a weld zone 60 in an existing bridge and for repairing a crack C in the weld zone therein is disclosed. The method includes: determining whether there is the crack C in the weld zone 60 or not; performing peening processing on the weld zone 60 when there is not the crack C in the weld zone 60; determining whether the crack C falls within a range of a predetermined reference or not when there is the crack C in the weld zone 60; performing peening treatment on the weld zone 60 including the crack C when the crack C falls within the range of the predetermined reference; and determining, after performing peening processing, whether a shape of an indentation formed by the peening processing satisfies a predetermined reference or not.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
