Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for preparing [11C] methyl iodide which is much easier to use and acts on several types of syntheses without replacing the component and has a much higher specific radioactivity.
CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing [11C] methyl iodide comprises the steps of mixing carbon dioxide and hydrogen under a pressure so as to form a first mixture; passing the first mixture on a catalyst so as to form methanol; and passing the methanol on an iodinating reagent so as to form methyl iodide.
