PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation system and a methane fermentation method capable of efficiently generating a methane-containing biogas by fermenting organic wastes.SOLUTION: In a methane fermentation system for generating a methane-containing biogas by fermenting organic wastes including a first fermentation tank fermenting the organic wastes and a second fermentation tank being operated in a temperature zone different from the first fermentation tank and further fermenting a residue in the first fermentation tank, temperature in the first fermentation tank is within the range of 30-40°C and temperature in the second fermentation tank is within the range of temperature higher than temperature in the first fermentation tank and 45°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
