To provide a comparatively low cost, effective and highly reliable medical suction overflow protector with well visually observable actuation of a vacuum line closure.
The medical overflow protector is used for a medical care aspiration apparatus of a body fluid of a patient. The protector is placed on the upper stream of a vacuum controller to protect the vacuum controller and the other components in its down stream so as not to be brought into contact with the aspirated body fluid from the patient. The protector is equipped with an inlet, an outlet and an operating mechanism which is movable between a contracting position capable of connect the gas flow from the inlet and the outlet through the protector and an inflation position closing vacuum supply to the patient and closing both the inlet and the outlet. An electric circuit having a pair of detection electrodes displaces a shrinking site to an inflating site of the operating mechanism by discharging and actuating a profile metal alloy wire when it detects the liquid between the detection electrodes.
