Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a con-rod and a mold thereof that prevent reduction of an accuracy of dimensions of a large end part and a small end part when manufacturing a con-rod made of a sintered metal whose dimensions at the large end part and at the small end part are different, and damage of a forming mold.SOLUTION: A dust process has a step where a cavity partitioned into a die 41, cores 42a, 42b and 42c and a lower punch 43 is filled with raw material powder M, and a step molding a green compact by pressing the raw material powder M with a lowered upper punch 44. Among lower surfaces of the upper punch 44, a molding surface 44a forming an upper surface of a stem part is disposed lower than molding surfaces 44b and 44c forming upper surfaces of the large end part and the small end part. By pushing the raw material powder M by the upper punch 44, after releasing a part of the raw material powder M filled in a stem part molding area in the cavity out of the cavity (a side of the die 41 or a side of the center core 42c), the raw material powder M in the cavity is compressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
