Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an uniform and thin layer positive electrode mix sheet by adding and mixing a conductive assistant and a fluorine resin binder to vanadium oxide of a positive electrode active material, and adding an organic solvent containing a specified amount of ethyl acetate thereto followed by kneading and rolling.

CONSTITUTION: Vanadium oxide powder is used as a positive electrode active material, and acetylene black as a conductive assistant and ethylene tetrafluoride as a binder are mixed thereto. An organic solvent is added thereto followed by kneading, and the resulting mixture is rolled by a roll to form a thin layer positive electrode mix sheet. As the added organic solvent, those containing ethyl acetate in a volume percentage of 20% or more are used. Hence, the fluorine resin is cut by the swelling at the time of kneading, and further kneaded into a fibrous state, resulting in an increase in viscosity and sheet workability. Consequently, an uniform and thin layer positive electrode mix sheet can easily and stably be manufactured.
