To provide a magnetron by which leakage of electrons is prevented by varying the geometric structures of an upper part shield and a lower part shield to make space symmetrical an electric charge distribution within a working.
The magnetron comprises a positive electrode cylinder, a plurality of vanes arranged within the positive electrode cylinder so as to form a positive electrode part together with the positive electrode cylinder, a filament arranged on an axis of the positive electrode cylinder for forming the working space together with the tip surfaces of the vanes to emit thermions, upper and lower shields respectively covering the upper part and the lower part of the filament, and upper and lower magnetic electrode pieces arranged in a state respectively separated from the upper part shield and the lower part shield for inducing a magnetic flux within the working space. Diameter of the upper part shield and lower part shield is 6.95mm-7.10mm.
