Abstract:
The nozzle is for use on a petrol pump. Iy has a spout for insertion in a tank filler pipe connected to a body, in which a main valve is accommodated. A valve control mechanism allows or prevents the fluid flow. A locking device is incorporated, allowing use of the nozzle only when the spout has been correctly inserted in the pipe and for the correct distance, the blow being instantly shut off if the spout comes free. There can be a spring-loaded movable component on the outside of the spout near the tip, allowing opening of the valve only if the spout is fully home in the filler pipe.
