Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the abrasion degree of a drill without damaging low dielectric constant and low dielectric loss by constituting at least one base material among resin impregnated base materials of a glass fiber having a composition consisting of two components of SiO2 and B2O3. CONSTITUTION:Aqueous hydrochloric acid is dripped on a mixture consisting of silicon alkoxide and ethanol to perform hydrolysis to a certain degree and, subsequently, a mixture consisting of boron alkoxide and ethanol is added to the resulting reaction mixture. The obtained composition is heated under stirring to sufficiently develop viscosity and extruded into the open air from a die (nozzle) to form a gel fiber which is, in turn, baked to synthesize a SiO2-B2 O3 glass fiber. The synthesized SiO2-B2O3 glass fibers are twisted and subsequently woven to prepare glass cloth. Further, the synthesized SiO2-B2O3 glass fiber strand is cut into a length of 4mm and the cut fibers are formed into a nonwoven fabric by a papermaking method. As a resin to be impregnated when a laminated sheet is prepared, an epoxy resin or heat resistant opoxy resin is used.
