Abstract:
To provide a joint boot capable of improving sealability between a thick portion and a case.SOLUTION: In a joint boot made of a thermoplastic resin and including a large-diameter cylindrical portion to which a cylindrical case is inserted and which is fastened by a band at its outer peripheral face, a small-diameter cylindrical portion having a rolling portion rolling on an inner peripheral face of the case and mounted on a transmission shaft projecting from an opening of a tip face of the case, and a bellows portion axially expandable and connecting one ends of the large-diameter cylindrical portion and the small-diameter cylindrical portion, the large-diameter cylindrical portion includes a thin portion as a part of the circumference of the large-diameter cylindrical portion, a thick portion connected to the thin portion at both ends in the circumferential direction and positioned at a radial inner side with respect to the inner peripheral face of the thin portion at its inner peripheral face, a first seal projecting from the inner peripheral face of the thin portion to a radial inner side, and crushed by the case, and a second seal projecting from the inner peripheral face of the thick portion to a radial inner side. The second seal includes a first portion crushed by the case, and a second portion connected to a small-diameter cylindrical portion side of the first portion and having a crushing margin smaller than a crushing margin of the first portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
