This iron group sintered alloy two-layer valve seat is composed of two layers of a valve abutting layer containing one or two kinds in 8 to 30 mass % of Cu, 0.3 to 2.0 mass % of C, 0.5 to 10 mass % of Ni and 0.5 to 13 mass % of Mo, containing 0.1 to 20 mass % in total of one kind or two or more kinds in Co, Cr, W, Si, V, Nb and Mn when necessary and having the remainder having the composition composed of Fe and an unavoidable impurity and a valve seat body layer containing 2 to 25 mass % of Cu and 0.3 to 1.6 mass % of C and having the remiander having the composition composed of Fe and an unavoidable impurity, and relatively increases a Cu quantity contained in the valve abutting layer more than a Cu quantity contained in the valve seat body layer.
