Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine which has excellent heat resistance and a heat insulation property and has low heat conductivity and low heat capacity, the internal combustion engine including a heat shielding membrane on a wall surface facing a combustion chamber, and a method of manufacturing the internal combustion engine in which the heat shielding membrane can be efficiently formed.
In an internal combustion engine, a heat shielding film 10 is formed over a partial or entire wall surface facing a combustion chamber. In the heat shielding film 10, a hollow element 3 configured by forming the coating 2 of a magnetic substance around hollow beads 1, is contained in the base metal 4 of the heat shielding film 10.
