To provide a compact and user-friendly image recording medium reusing apparatus which requires no wasteful consumables nor standby power, and makes an image recording medium reusable.
As shown in (a), the image recording medium has a three-layered structure composed of releasing and light absorption layers 22 coated on both sides of a heat-resistant resin sheet 21. The releasing and light absorption layer 22 generates heat by absorbing a laser beam to thereby fuse and fix a toner image formed on a special sheet surface when forming an image, and secures proper releasing performance when removing an image to easily remove the re-fused toner image. As shown in (b), the image recording medium may have a five-layered structure separately including a light absorption layer 23 and a releasing layer 24. As shown in (c), a heat-resistant resin sheet may be used also as a light absorption layer (heat-resistant resin sheet 25 serving also as the light absorption layer) by internally adding an infrared absorbent to the heat-resistant resin sheet.
