Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a reprocessing method suitable for nitrided fuel. CONSTITUTION:After used nitrided nuclear fuel is processed by heating so as to allow fusion products of a low boiling point to be separated, when the aforesaid used nuclear fuel is dissolved into fusion zinc containing uranium, nitride other than uranium nitride and plutonium nitride is reduced by uranium so as to be formed into simple substance. The metallic simple substance thus refined is dissolved into fusion zinc. In this case, since uranium nitride and plutonium nitride do not be dissolved into fusion zinc, precipitations are filtered so as to be recovered, and when zinc is removed out of precipitations, uranium nitride and plutonium nitride can thereby be recovered out of used nitrided nuclear fuel.
