To provide a hydraulic brake device which is easily installed even in a limited space by separately constituting a hydraulic pressure generating device from a hoisting machine, and reducing the constitution itself of the hydraulic pressure generating device, and an elevator device having the same.
The hydraulic brake device comprises a braking spring for pressing a braking piece 8 against a body 7 to be braked and applying the braking thereto, and a braking release device 3 for releasing the braked state by the braking spring with the hydraulic pressure. The braking release device has a magnetic driving means 4, a liquid compression means 5 and a braking piece separating means 6. The liquid compressed by straightly driving a part of the liquid compression means by the magnetic driving means is fed to the braking piece separating means to separate the braking piece from the body to be braked.
