To provide a new microorganism having excellent adsorption ability of a selenium oxyanion, to provide a selenium oxyanion adsorbent using the microorganism as an active ingredient, and to provide a method for removing the selenium oxyanion using the microorganism.
Provided are a microorganism belonging to a species to which Cryptococcus JPCCY0075 strain (NITE P-414) belongs; a microorganism belonging to the Cryptococcus in which the base sequence of 18SrDNA has ≥96% homology with a specific base sequence, and has the selenium oxyanion-adsorbing ability; Cryptococcus JPCCY0075 strain(NITE P-414); the selenium oxyanion adsorbent containing the microorganisms as active ingredients; and the method for removing the selenium oxyanion using such the microorganisms.
