Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide hot-plug retaining structure for a diesel engine, capable of preventing the falling of a hot plug by simple structure, without requiring a high pressure proof seal between a hot plug and a cylinder head, and also without increasing the number of part items or working manhours or the thermal deformation of the hot plug.
CONSTITUTION: A combustion recessed part 17 composing a sub combustion chamber 19 is formed on the surface joined side of a cylinder head so as to be opened in a cylinder bore, and a hot plug 18 is engagedly inserted from the surface joined side in the opening part 17a of the combustion recessed part 17. A retaining means 17b is provided for fixing a hot plug 18 to the opening part 17a.
