Abstract:
To provide a half-split thrust bearing for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine in which the accumulation and seizure of foreign matters hardly occur at an operation.SOLUTION: A half-split thrust bearing according to this invention is formed of an Fe-alloy back metal layer and a bearing alloy layer, and has a slide face and two thrust reliefs. Each of thrust relief faces has a first region 821 at an end face side in a peripheral direction in which the back metal layer is exposed, a second region 822 in which the bearing alloy layer is exposed, and a third region 823. The slide face has a fourth region 812. An end part region 800 in the peripheral direction composed of the first region and the second region is defined. The bearing alloy layer of the second region has a thickness-equalized part which is constant in a thickness of the bearing alloy layer, and a thickness-reduced part adjoining an inside-diameter side end face, and thinner than the thickness-equalized part in a thickness of the bearing alloy layer at its cross section, and each of the bearing alloy layers of the third region and the fourth region has a thickness-equalized part which is constant in the thickness of the bearing alloy layer, and a thickness-increased part or a thickness-equalized part adjoining the inside-diameter side end face, and thicker than the thickness-equalized part in the thickness of the bearing alloy part at its cross section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
