Abstract:
To provide a half-split thrust bearing for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine in which the local accumulation and seizure of foreign matters hardly occur at an operation.SOLUTION: According to this invention, a half-split thrust bearing is formed of an Fe-alloy back metal layer and a bearing alloy layer, and has a slide face and two thrust reliefs. Each of the thrust reliefs has a first region at an end face side in a peripheral direction composed of a surface at which the back metal layer is exposed, and a second region at the slide face side composed of a surface at which the bearing alloy layer is exposed. The slide face has two third regions adjoining the second region, and a fourth region between the third regions, and an end part region in the peripheral direction composed of the first region, the second region and the third region is thereby formed. Each of the bearing alloy layers of the second region and the third region has a thickness-equalized part which is constant in a thickness of the bearing alloy layer in a center in a radial direction at any of cross sections which are parallel with split planes of the bearing, and a thickness-reduced part which adjoins an inside-diameter side end face, and is thinner than the thickness-equalized part in the thickness of the bearing alloy layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
