Abstract:
To provide a half bearing for a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine excellent in embedding performance of foreign matters mixed therein together with an oil.SOLUTION: Soft bearing material layers 81 are formed on end portion regions AE of half bearings 2, 3, and a thickness T of the soft bearing material layers 81 is constituted to be minimum at a circumferential central portion C side of inner peripheral surfaces 5 of the half bearings 2, 3, and to gradually increase toward a circumferential end portion E side of the inner peripheral surfaces 5 of the half bearings 2, 3. Thus in the end portion regions AE of the half bearings 2, 3, allowance to embed foreign matters in circumferential grooves 6 in which the soft bearing material 8 is housed, is increased toward the circumferential end portions E of the half bearings 2, 3. Accordingly, the foreign matters can be easily completely embedded in the soft bearing material 8 in the circumferential grooves 6 and on the circumferential grooves 6, and hardly project to a radial inner side with respect to the inner peripheral surfaces 5, even when the foreign matters are locally embedded in a concentrated manner near the circumferential end portions of the circumferential grooves 6 in which the soft bearing material 8 is housed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
