Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket for use in airtight closing an opening of a glass lining container in which a clearance adjustment work can be eliminated and further the airtight characteristic at the opening can be improved.SOLUTION: This invention provides a gasket including an annular rubber elastic body having a substantial barrel-shaped vertical sectional shape and a back-up ring for controlling a crush rate of the rubber elastic body to an appropriate value. In this gasket, a formula in relation of W/H>1, 25≤(H-t)÷H×100≤50 can be established where H is the maximum thickness of the rubber elastic body in a vertical direction, W is a width of the rubber elastic body in a horizontal direction and [t] is a thickness of the back-up ring in a vertical direction, numerical relations of W1≤10 m, W2≤10 mm can be established where W1 is a width of the rubber elastic body in a horizontal direction at a height position of the upper surface of the back-up ring and W2 is a width of the rubber elastic body in a horizontal direction at a height position of the lower surface of the back-up ring.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
