Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce a radius proportion between a pump impeller and a turbine runner and increase a coefficient of torque capacity so as to reduce slippage of a fluid coupling by forming the shells of both the pump impeller and the turbine runner to have such as meridian cross section that is can be seen flat and includes a straight line. CONSTITUTION:Each of the shell 11b of a pump impeller 11 and the shell 12b of a turbine runner 12 has an arced meridian cross section at both the outermost and the innermost circumferential sides thereof. The arced forms of both the outermost and the innermost circumferential portion can be connected by a straight line. The appearance of the external periphery of the meridian cross section related to each of corings 11c and 12c is provided as to have a form which can be overlapped by an envelope of a trace of working fluid action, which is estimated when the flow path area of working fluid is supposed to be approximately constant.
