PURPOSE: To improve magnetic recording density and to enhance stability in magnetic recording by making a magnetic recording layer a magnetic stripe layer.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetic stripes 4a and 4b are added to both ends in the width direction of a photographic film. It is enough that the width of the stripes 4a and 4b is equal to or above a track width required for the magnetic recording. In the case of a conventional 35mm camera, a picture frame 5 is 24mm in the width direction of the film, so that there is surplus by 5.5mm at both ends of the film respectively and it is enough as space for the magnetic stripes 4a and 4b. The magnetic stripe layers 4a and 4b are not superposed on the picture 5 used for photographing and sufficient recording materials are added, thereby holding the recording density equivalent to the conventional audio tape.
