Abstract:
To provide a light-weight engine valve by making a bevel part and a shaft end part out of a minimum metallic material, and making the other parts out of a plastic material.
A metallic head member 2 and a metallic covering cylinder 3 having an annular groove 3a to fix a cotter on its outer peripheral face are respectively fitted to a bevel part 1b and a shaft end part of a valve base material 1 made of plastic of high strength or fiber reinforced plastic, and having the bevel part 1b on one end of a shaft part 1a.
