Abstract:
PURPOSE: To preclude confusion generated with misactuation, etc., of an accident sensing means by checking occurrence of any accident by a checking means prior to automatic informing by an informing control means when accident occurrence is sensed, and canceling transmission of automatic information by a canceling means.
CONSTITUTION: An emergency information device for a vehicle is equipped with an accident sensing means 3 which senses the working conditions of a car telephone 1 and an air bag system 2 to know whether any accident has happened in the vehicle concerned, and in the event of accident occurrence, an information control means 4 makes automatic informing of the data on the current place to the specified address via the car telephone 1 using a vehicle position reading means 5. Precedingly, checking is made whether any accident has happened, and if not, the transmitting of information about accident occurrence is canceled by a cancel switch 7. This is to be conducted when a sufficient time for the vehicle to stop has elapsed since an accident was sensed. In case the car is running, accident sensing is continued because sensing of accident occurrence by the means 3 is due to misactuation.
