To eliminate the friction or wear of a moving part which is a possible cause for the deterioration of an electropneumatic positioner for longer service life by feedingback the position signal of a valve stem with no-contact.
A deviation control circuit 30 conducts proportional operation for generating a signal in proportion to a deviation signal between a control signal 3 and a valve opening position signal (d) and integral operation for generating a time integral signal to the deviation signal to apply its composite output signal (e) to a torque motor control circuit 32. If a valve stem 6 does not stop at a position corresponding to the control signal 3, the deviation control circuit 30 outputs the composite output signal (e) and generates a pneumatic signal (a) until the position of a moving permanent magnet 25 for position detection is the one corresponding to the control signal 3. When the position of the moving permanent magnet 25 for position detection comes to a corresponding one, this signal (e) is lost. The inside of an electropneumatic positioner 40, in place of a mechanical method which transmits movement of the valve stem 6, formed with a loop which employs an electric feedback signal of no friction at all.
