To provide an electrodeless lamp system usable not only for a illumination but also for a low output light source of electronic equipment by reducing a whole size of the lamp system.
The lamp system is composed of a magnetron 101 for generating microwaves and having an antenna 101a for outputting the microwaves; a resonator 102 having a resonant space of which inner diameters are partially different in accordance with passages of the microwaves and by which the microwaves are resonated; an electric bulb 104 disposed inside the resonator 102 and with a light emitting substance to emit light by microwave energy charged therein; and a microwave feeder 103 of which one end is connected to the antenna 101a and the other end is connected to the bulb 104 to guide the microwaves to the bulb 104. The ratio between an outer diameter of the feeder 103 and an inner diameter of the resonator 102 corresponding thereto is varied in accordance with travelling directions of the microwaves.
