Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems produced when the rotation of an electric motor is transmitted to a steering mechanism after deceleration through a worm shaft and a worm wheel that a noise resulting from a backlash occurs an produced when the worm shaft is shafted to a worm wheel side by swinging that the worm shaft is wrenched round a bearing part.
SOLUTION: The first end part 21 of the worm shaft 18 is rotatably supported through a self-aligning bearing 23. When an energizing member 40 shifts the second end part 22 of the worm shaft 18 to the radial worm wheel 19 side through a rolling bearing 33 to suppress an increase in the backlash, the worm shaft 18 is swung smoothly.
