PURPOSE: To perform screening of a powder having a necessary particle size from a powder having wide particle size distribution with good accuracy, by providing plural stages of electrodes each forming an electric field matrix in the before-and-behind directions of a particle supply passage.
CONSTITUTION: At least two sets of electrode groups 2 each consisting of a plurality of linear electrodes provided in parallel are superposed and mutually insulated and intersected to be connected to an AC power source to form electric field matrices 4. Plural stages of the electric field matrices 4 are provided in the before-and-behind direction of a particle supply passage 5. Therefore, when particles to be screened are charged by a charge device 6 to be supplied to the electric field matrices 4 from the supply passage 5, particles with a certain particle size or more are suspended above the electric field matrices 4. Because small particles are low in charge quantity and do not sufficiently receive electrodynamical obstructing force, said small particles pass through the electric field matrices 4 under gravity to enable screening.
