PURPOSE: To reduce the time constant of the brake operation of an electric driver for a brake having a brake disc which can be transferred in an axial direction on the output shaft of a motor, can rotate with the motor output shaft by a teeth part and has a brake disc having brake planes which can be pressed against facing stationary brake discs by spring forces on both its sides and an electromagnet device which releases the brake disc against the spring forces, when a current is applied. CONSTITUTION: An electromagnet device is composed of an AC electromagnet 24. An E-shaped electromagnet coil yoke 27 which excites the AC electromagnet 24 is provided. The facing pole surfaces of the electromagnet coil yoke, which face the E-shaped electromagnet coil yoke, are the end planes of the magnet yokes which enable angular motions on all the sides. If a current is applied to the AC electromagnet 24, the electromagnet coil is attracted vertically by the end plane of the E-shaped electromagnet coil yoke 27 which is provided so as to face the electromagnet coil yoke.
