To provide a drum brake, in which a distance between a brake lever and a center part of a backing plate is made longer than that of the conventional drum brake to easily reduce the size of the drum brake.
In the drum brake, a stopper part 50a formed by curving a plate part 68a is extended on a backing plate 16 side, after penetrating an insertion hole 72 disposed to a shoe web 38 and extended along a shoe rim 42. In the stopper part 50a, a contact position in contact with the parking brake lever 54 is moved to be closer to the shoe rim 42 side of the brake shoe 18, compared with the conventional stopper part in which the contact position is extended from a side face opposed to the shoe rim 42 side of the brake shoe 18 of the plate part 68a to the backing plate 16 side. Hence, the distance between the parking brake lever 54 and the center part of the backing plate 16 is longer than that of the conventional drum brake, and the size of the drum brake 10 is easily reduced.
