Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake device equipped with an electric parting brake device which can reduce the deterioration of brake effectiveness in parking braking, and makes the layout of a motor gear unit compact.SOLUTION: A drum brake device 11 includes: a wheel cylinder 13 interposed between adjacent ends of one of a pair of brake shoes 21 and 23; a gear housing 41 which has an anchor portion on which the adjacent ends of the other of the brake shoes 21 and 23 abut; an expansion mechanism 15 which is arranged in the gear housing 41, and expands the pair of the brake shoes 21 and 23 by an electric motor 39; a switch lever 64 rotated by the operation force of the expansion mechanism 15; and a coupling member 17 which follows rotations of the switch lever 64, and expands the adjacent ends on the wheel cylinder side of the pair of the brake shoes 21 and 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
