To provide a compact driving wheel bearing device with a rotating speed detecting mechanism integrated with a constant velocity joint.
A stem 30 of an outside joint member 21 is inserted into a spline hole 9 of an inward member 3 and connected thereto in one unit. The opening of an annular space 40 on the side of the outside joint member, formed between the inner peripheral face of an outward member 2 and the outer peripheral face of each of the inward member 3 and the outside joint member 21, is sealed by a seal member 41b having a slinger 43 and a seal ring 42. The slinger 43 is formed with a disc portion 43b at one end of a cylinder portion 43a and a flange 43c on the outer periphery of the disc portion 43b. The rotating speed detecting mechanism consists of an encoder 46b mounted on the flange 43c and a rotation sensor 47 opposed to the encoder 46b for detecting the rotating speed of driving wheels. It is stored between the outside joint member 21 of a constant velocity joint part 20 and the outward member 2, thus providing the compact wheel bearing device.
