Abstract:
To provide a drive force transmission device which can limit an axial position of an armature at the non-energization of an electromagnetic coil within a proper range even if the number of magnetic permeable clutch plates of an electromagnetic clutch mechanism is changed while using one type of a housing, and its manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A drive force transmission device 2 has: a housing 20 and an inner shaft 23; a main clutch 3 composed of a plurality of clutch plates; a cam mechanism 4 for pressing the main clutch 3; and an electromagnetic clutch mechanism 5 for operating the cam mechanism 4. The electromagnetic clutch mechanism 5 has: a pilot clutch 50 composed of a plurality of magnetic permeable clutch plates; and an armature 7 for pressing the pilot clutch 50 by a magnetic force. The housing 20 has a plurality of internal peripheral spline protrusions 211, and regulation faces 211a, 211b abutting on the armature 7 and regulating the axial movement of the armature 7 are formed in positions different in the axial direction at a part of the internal peripheral spline protrusions 211.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
