Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a desired transmission torque characteristic in the low, medium and high speed zones of a rotating speed difference by providing an orifice at the intermediate position of the oil suction passage of a variable-displacement hydraulic pump generating hydraulic pressure corresponding to a rotating speed difference between front and rear wheel drive shafts, so that the flow resistance of the oil suction passage becomes larger than the flow resistance of the oil delivery passage.
CONSTITUTION: An oil suction passage S is throttled, so as to keep the flow resistance thereof higher than the flow resistance of an oil delivery passage D. An oil supply amount, therefore, becomes insufficient for an oil chamber H in the first state expanding according to an increase in a rotating speed difference, or an increase in the volume expansion speed thereof. As a result, charging efficiency for the chamber H in the first state becomes low. When the chamber H is selected at the second state, an internal pressure rise is restrained. On the contrary, charging efficiency becomes high, according to a drop in rotating speed, or a drop in the volume contracting speed of the chamber H. Thus, loose coupling state can be attained between front and rear drive shafts in a low speed zone, and a desired level of transmission torque can be provided in a medium speed zone.
