PURPOSE: To operate drilling on a long material by projecting a punch by means of cam action, on the surface of a drum rotating in synchronism with the long material when the punch comes opposite an elastic roller.
CONSTITUTION: When punching is to be done by means of punch 11a, of punches 11a to 11f, on long material 1 placed between drum 2, which rotates in synchronism with long material 1 being unwound, and elastic roller 7, solenoid 19a corresponding to punch 11a is energized and working rod 20a is projected. By this projection, cam 17a is moved forward by distance A and cam surface 18a is brought into contact with working pin 16a. Since working pin 16a is rotating about axis of rotation 2A of the drum at this time, working pin 16a moves on cam surface 18a; and together with needle 13a, it makes reciprocating motion within fixed range B. By this, the projections and depressions of cam surface 14a and placed opposite punch 11a; and punch 11a is projected from drum surface 2B, and thereby drilling on long material 1 is operated.
