Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity of cutting into fine pieces and landfilling and realize the utilization in the form of resources by a method wherein a used steel cord conveyor belt is cut longitudinally long and narrow so as to be divided into one single core belt and then, by being passed through a stripping die, separated into steel cords and rubber materials. SOLUTION: The top part a' of a used belt a is cut with a coarsely dividing cutting blade 1 into finely divided belts b. The finely divided belt b is cut with a finely dividing cutting blade 3 into single core belts c, the number of which is the same as the number of cords of a steel cord conveyor belt. A plurality of single core belts c, which are finely divided, are respectively guided with guide rolls 12 to stripping dies 4 so as to separate rubber materials d from used cords e in order to unidirectionally collect the rubber materials d separated from the steel cords e with a take-off conveyor 5 so as to cut every predetermined amount of the rubber materials with a cutter 9. The used cord e, from which the rubber material is separated, is wound to a drum 7. As a result, the cutting, filling in land and incineration of the cord portion of the used belt a are made unnecessary. Both the cords e and the rubber materials d after their separating treatment can be regenerated and utilized.
