Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc-type steam trap capable of cleaning a connecting portion of an annular groove and an outlet passage, and the outlet passage at a lower portion of the connecting portion of the annular groove and the outlet passage, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A bimetal 13 formed into a double helical shape by spirally winding a strip-shaped flat plate, and further spirally winding the helical shape once more, is disposed in an outlet passage 10 formed by a part of an annular groove 8 between inner and outer ring valve seats 6, 7. The bimetal 13 is expanded at a low temperature to lift up a valve disc 11 and to separate the same from the inner and outer ring valve seats 6, 7 so that a valve is opened, and the bimetal 13 is contracted at a high temperature so that it does not interfere with the valve disc 11. When the bimetal 13 is expanded and contracted, a surface of the bimetal 13 is brought into sliding contact with foreign matters attached to a connecting portion 16 of the annular groove 8 and an outlet passage 10, and the outlet passage 10 at a lower part of the connecting portion 8 of the annular groove 8 and the outlet passage 10, to clean the foreign matters.
