Abstract:
A combination fire suppression sprinkler (12) and coupling (14) is provided in a pre-assembled state for rapid installation into a piping network (90). Coupling segments (54, 56) are pivotably hinged and an adjustable attachment assembly (68) opposite the hinge (60) secures the segments (54, 56) to one another. In the pre-assembled state the segments (54, 56) are held at a separation angle sufficient to permit insertion of a pipe element (90) into the coupling (14) without disassembling the coupling (14).
